What the card carriers of women’s empowerment fail to see? 🤯

Living through the apartheid taught me the toughest lesson of my life. It wasn't the power of a strong work ethic or the importance of a moral voice. It wasn't courage or conviction.

It was the realisation that a movement of systemic oppression can only gain strength by turning like against like.

To the women who have risen through the ranks of power: you are now the gatekeepers of empowerment. The pain you have endured is what makes your words worth its weight in gold. Know this, you have outgrown judgment. The imposter that makes you scrutinise your kind is the subtle power systemic oppression yields. You are above that and beyond the reach of judgment.

The world does not suffer from the violence of bad people as much as it suffers from the silence of good people.
